At the time you reserve space, you may choose ONE of the following Special Placement options for an additional 10% of the ad price (call first for availability):
• within the first 40 pages of the magazine (our choice of page);
• OR within a particular article;
• OR on a right-hand page (our choice).
Checks or Money Orders must be drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. funds. Mail to: P.O. Box 970, Cedar Ridge, CA 95924. If you are using FedEx, Airborne, or UPS, send to our street address: 436 Colfax Ave., Grass Valley, CA 95945. Payment may be made with Visa or MasterCard, except for prepayment of 3 or 6 issues to receive 10% or 15% discount. Discounted prepayments must be made with a check or money order.
DISPLAY AD SPECIFICATIONS
The following specifications are mandatory for advertising in TMA. If you do not have the services of a professional graphic designer, we can refer you to a designer whose work meets our needs.
TMA accepts ads only in electronic/digital format. Your ad must be built with the exact dimensions of the TMA ad size you have reserved.
We do not accept Word files or "native" files from Pagemaker, Quark, Illustrator, PagePlus, Microsoft Publisher, or PrintMaster. TMA uses Adobe Indesign CS2 for Mac. Only files that are fully compatible with this program will be accepted.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL DESIGNERS
Acceptable Digital File Types (for Mac platform only):
* "Press Optimized" PDF files (using Acrobat Distiller)
* highest quality/uncompressed JPEGs
* Photoshop-compliant TIFFs with all fonts 100% embedded
* EPS files for Macintosh (with all fonts converted to outlines)
Color Mode: All B&W ads must be converted to grayscale or bitmap. If you've requested spot color, please do not specify Pantone or custom inks. Do not leave any ads in RGB color space. (PDFs: be sure to check Distiller settings for this.)
Resolution: 300 dpi for grayscale ads; 1200 dpi for line art. (Note: 72-dpi or 96-dpi "web-ready" graphics are NOT acceptable for use as print ads.)
Note: Digital files that do not conform to the above specifications (due to incorrect size, unembedded fonts, RGB color mode) may incur file-fix charges at the rate of $50 per hour (1/2 hour minimum charge), or result in your ad being pulled.

Please contact the Ad Manager to reserve space and for specific ad copy requirements. We can not design your ad or provide design consultation.
Your Professional Directory ad must be exactly 2.25” square, saved as a 300-dpi (minimum) .jpg or .tif file, and must conform to the basic design format and style of acceptable ads for this section (see prior issues of TMA for examples). Our Art Director has final approval of every ad in the Directory to ensure that all ads are complementary to the overall appearance of this particular section of TMA. Ads for the Professional Directory can be sent to the Ad Manager
Inexpensive and effective! Just call to reserve space by the deadline date and then send typed or hand-printed ad copy with payment by the ad copy deadline. Addresses, URLs, and e-mail addresses count as two words each.

31 - 45 words $50 per insertion
46 - 60 words $60 per insertion
We reserve the right to refuse to run your ad if it is, in our judgment, unsuitable for any reason or if it does not meet our specifications or deadlines. If we do refuse to run the ad, payment will be refunded in full. If you reserve space and then cancel after the ad reservation deadline, we reserve the right to collect from you. Ads may be pulled when payment deadlines are not met. The Mountain Astrologer is not liable for any costs or damages beyond a full refund of your payment for an ad. The advertisers assume all liability for all claims or judgments arising from the publication of their ads. Rates, schedules, and print quantities are subject to change without notice.
